Sunday afternoon's big match may well have had some bearing on who wins the title. And having lost 6-2 to Ormesby third-placed Harvey Barnets may well be out of the reckoning for the top honours now. Tied on eighteen points each it now looks to be a battle between London Progress and Ormesby. The Drinkhall brothers dominated. Paul beat Gergely Urban 3-2 to give his side a 2-0 lead whilst Bryn also excelled, beating Costas Papantoniou (3-1) and Tim Yarnall (3-0). Craig Bryant had set Ormesby on their way with a vital 11-8 fifth set victory against Tim Yarnall and Paul Drinkhall sealed the Ormesby victory by beating old rival Darius Knight 3-1. There has to be some irony here; that the battle to decide the destination of the British Senior League Premier division may have rested on the outcome of a game between the two best Cadets in the country, and two players who have probably played each other in more big games in recent years than any other two players. Whatever...... they seemed to take it all in their stride. In the last game of the match Danny Reed completed what had been an excellent Ormesby performance with a superb 3-1 victory against Costas Papantoniou.

Seasiders produced a far better performance in the afternoon and their 5-3 win over BATTS Team Peniel I means that Peniel will also be only too aware that unless they play well in the last weekend they too could be relegated. Michael Rogala had a much better game this time. He ran out a convincing 3-0 winner against Peter Cleminson and with the score poised at 2-2 he came through a superb battle to pip John Holland 11-9 in the fifth end. The last three points where Drogala went "for broke" each time were really special, the most dramatic of the day. Louis Rosenthal also excelled beating both Neil Charles and Martin Kubrt 3-0, his win over Kubrt eventually securing the two valuable points for his side. Kubrt who has been an integral part of BATTS Peniel second team's challenge for the division three (South) title again showed how well he can adapt to play at this level by scoring a fine 3-2 victory against Greg Baker and Neil Charles also came up trumps with another notable victory, a superb 3-2 success against John Hilton.

Ellenborough, the surprise package of the Sunday morning were brought rudely down to earth in the afternoon by Darlington. With Michael Marsden beating John Nilsson 12-10 in the decider Darlington took full advantage as David Meads overcame Jimmy Walsh 3-0 and Carl Prean saw off Gareth Herbert 11-3, 11-8, 11-8. Marsden completed the job with a 3-1 win over Gary Tendler before Jimmy Walsh with a win over Bradley Evans and John Nillson with a win over David Meads restored some respectability to the scoreline. 5-3 to Darlington and two vital points means that although Darlington remain bottom they are still very much in touch with the teams above them.

JAGS were understrength and with only Tom Cutler and Clive Carthy of their recognised squad available it was little surprise that they struggled. Two heavy defeats has seen them plummet into the relegation zone and they will be hoping that their leading player Lorestas Trumpauskas is available for the last weekend. They sank without trace against Harvey Barnets I, although their two reserves John Dennison and Martin Smith both put up great fights. Martin came close to extending Darius Knight to five sets before succumbing 7-11, 11-7, 5-11, 10-12 whilst John gave a good account of himself against Costas Papantoniou before he went down 11-7, 6-11, 6-11, 7-11. London Progress were also too strong for JAGS and they raced into a 6-0 lead although Tom Cutler gave Terry Young plenty to think about before falling away in the fifth set. JAGS's Clive Carthy eventually came up trumps in the seventh match with a 11-9 in the fifth game win over Darren Blake, another contender for "best win of the day".
